Plymouth Hospital

I got back from Plymouth, Derriford hospital late yesterday, I am tired and grumpy.
I had my de nerve operation to treat my cervical dystonia on August 11th 2011, the results were OK but not perfect, at the time the surgeon indicated he may need to have another go, apparently the nerves sometimes grow back on there own, although I honestly was not told about that before the operation.

As I understand it, the cost is very high and my GP has to sanction it,  so the surgeon gains, even if he messes up, he gets big bucks, and may have to repeat the operation, anyway, the re-grown is between 6>12 months so its 6 months since the operation and the surgeon insisted on seeing me, for me, Leicester to Plymouth it is 7 hours to Plymouth, one hotel night, see surgeon, too late for return train, another hotel night, then another 7 hours home, it’s a long gruelling journey, for anyone, but with Dystonia it is epic, what really pissed me off is it costs me around £300 for the trip and I only got 5 minutes with the surgeon, he didn’t even stand up to look at my neck, and see if the nerves are growing back, he just sat in his chair and asked me how I was, I said better but not good, and he just wrote something down at appeared and acted quite uninterested, I feel they want the prestige and mega pay, but don’t really want to spend time with patients, I hoped he would tell me something about my disease, and what I can expect in the future.

I always knew that there was no cure, but now he says they took so long to do the operation that other nerves are now trapped and damaged, so of course that’s why my hands are numb and my back hurts and I can't sleep, but he did not seem to care.

In any event, I don’t understand why he could not have told me nothing on the phone, or seen me on Skype, Yahoo, webcam etc. it was a hideous waste of time and money. All I now know is that he will see me again in August, being the one year anniversary. That will be another waste of time, which I guess he will bill the NHS trust for 

Plymouth Follow Up

well here I am off to Plymouth again, there's nothing wrong with Plymouth for a holiday, but I have to go to see my neurology surgeon just so he can have a look at how I am. I have already been told that they won't operate again at ;eat until August, so this is just a hello trip. What peeves me is that it is a days travelling to get to Plymouth, I will hang around the hospital for another day, during which time the surgeon will probably spend about 20 minutes with me, then on the third day I travel home, its about 7 hours each way. Maybe I am missing something but why can't I just chat with him on webcam? maybe too simple, but for me the trip is very difficult, tiring, expensive and time consuming. Anyway, I will be back on Saturday, maybe have an update, but not expecting much this time.

I think maybe the surgeons charge the NHS trust when they seem somebody, so maybe that’s why the follow up, even though they know they wont consider surgery until August.

Valentines Day

Valentines day.......secretly men feel left out, there's no special holiday for the ladies to show their appreciation to the man in their life. So March 14th is now officially "steak, blowjob and shut the fuck up day" simple effective and self-explanatory, no cards, no flowers, no fancy meal. Just a steak, a blowjob and shut the fuck up for the rest of the day. Thats it! spread the word and help men feel appreciated! (curry option available).

Steak

Had a steak meal at home yesterday, it was really, really delicious, cooked to perfection, even though I say myself. I like them a bit bloody, but not roar, normally I don't enjoy steak, because its too expensive, but the local butchers had a half price voucher so I splashed out. I wonder, does the butcher lose money on this ? or does he normally make over 50% profit ? I'm in the wrong business.

Just a point

So, the 27 year-old companion of the captain of the Costa Concordia has again defended his actions on that fateful night. Whilst admitting that Yes, the underwear in his cabin was hers. His wife, too, has been defending him against his critics but one wonders now whether she will continue to.

The chap who painted the early murals on the walls of the Facebook office thought that the concept was ridiculous. Nonetheless he accepted shares in lieu of cash payment. Which is why he'll be a multi-millionaire when the company goes public shortly. Lucky bastard. - somebody else wrote this but I thought it was interesting

Argos waste

I was in town again last Saturday and was amazed at Argos, "pushing" their catalogues on passers by again; they did this a few months and here they are again, I don't know if it’s a new catalogue or the same one still being pushed, but this is such a waste of paper and millions of plastic bags unnecessarily; They have always had a catalogue available inside the door, if people wanted a catalogue they can go in and get one free of charge, now people are having them that will never use them. Think about the future, will there be any trees left ? will we run out of landfill ? I think there will be big problems, fortunately not in my lifetime but it will effect the children of the future.

Market Harborough is only a small town, there must be enough here for everybody to have a couple each
